Shay Mitchell is best known to her fans as Emily Fields, one of the teens entangled in a murder mystery on the show “Pretty Little Liars”, which recently wrapped its final season with a big reveal finale. But off screen, Shay swaps life on a busy Hollywood set for downtime in her Moroccan-inspired L.A. home. She’s infused her Spanish-style bungalow with a bit of global flair, pairing a perforated brass pendant and a fireplace decked out in Moroccan-style tiles with unique vintage finds, now featured in her new collection on Chairish. We sat down with Shay to discuss her signature style, her love of vintage, and which collection pieces she almost couldn’t part with.
Plus, score tips on how to steal Shay’s chic look!
How would you describe your personal home aesthetic?
“I would say it’s kind of like my personal style in a way–always evolving as I grow. But I am always drawn to Moroccan or Italian villa vibes with a touch of vintage thrown in.”
Is there an item that you are selling in the Chairish sale that was particularly hard to part with? Which one and why?
“I’d say my set of blue tufted accent chairs. Those were some of the pricier things I bought after I booked my show and it started doing well. That purchase made me feel like such an adult and I LOVE THEM! Hoping they can find a new, happy home soon!”
“I love when certain things look worn, that have a story. I like to walk around my house and know that some pieces have lived other lives with other people…that’s just something I think is so cool and interesting.”
Are there any décor trends you are currently loving?
“I always love when wallpaper comes back!”
Where do you look for home décor inspiration?
“Online! Pinterest is a great place for me to browse as well as organize my inspiration for rooms in my home. I also definitely check Chairish. Specifically, you always have amazing dining chairs, or just a side chair, available!”

How You Can Steal Shay’s Glam Look
1. Go Big on Black & White
White walls and sofas paired with grounding, black accents, including a graphic bookcase and architectural details, form the foundation of Shay’s bungalow. Simply framed black-and-white fashion photography gives the overall look a glamorous edge.
2. Add Pops of Pink
Blush tones found throughout Shay’s home, including her Turkish rug and velvet throw pillows, add a subtle pop of color and a feminine feel to the place. A bright, abstract painting propped behind the sofa ties the color palette of her living room together perfectly.
3. Mix in Metal
A chic brass bar cart and a collection of glam, gold objets d’art add some sparkle to the living room. The warm undertones make brass an ideal outlier for an otherwise black, white, and blush palette.
