Renowned for his work in bronze, stainless steel, and copper, Paul Evans was among the first designers to experiment with Brutalist design in the 1970s and 80s. His bold, provocative pieces rendered in heavy metals. Early In his career he favored rough, metal finishes, illustrated by his iconic, stalagmite-legged dining table for Directional. As his career progressed, Evan’s work took on a more polished edge, resulting in high glamour case pieces and chairs surfaced in flashy, gold-and-silver squares.
