Kate Roebuck
Chattanooga, TN
With a background in textile design, artist Kate Roebuck draws inspiration from pattern, form, color, and texture to create works of art that are bold but approachable and quirky, much like the artist herself. Kate’s singular interpretations of nature and everyday life, done largely in ink and watercolor, are given the loving attention of someone who takes the time to not just look, but really see the beauty all around her. “The slower pace of life in the south leaves me with ample time to create.”
Angela Chrusciaki Blehm
Gainsville, GA
Angela Chrusciaki Blehm’s inspiration for her graphic paintings comes from the clothing we wear, or sometimes dream of wearing, architecture, interiors, and as she puts it, “the idea of color as antidote.” Her ability to manipulate line to create visual depth, along with a color palette that screams happy sophisticate, gives her work a kind of post-modern mojo that has people clamoring for more.
Stephanie Henderson
Atlanta, GA
The bold and energizing acrylic paintings by artist Stephanie Henderson burst with color, but also a certain edge thanks to geometric motifs that subtly nod to the 60s and 70s. Given her dreamy color combinations and mesmerizing shapes, it’s not surprising that many of Stephanie’s ideas for her paintings, “dance through my head on the cusp of sleep.”
Morgan Walker
Florence, SC
In her father’s declining penmanship due to Parkinson’s Disease and her young daughter’s free-wheeling scribbles, artist Morgan Walker saw artistic possibilities. “All of my work focuses on control,” she says. Morgan, who produces work under the name Melvin G, turned works on paper inspired by her father’s marks and daughter’s chaotic use of color into whimsical cut paper collages, each coming together as a 3-dimensional portrait of iconic cultural figures.
Leslie Weaver
Charleston, SC
The female form is artist Leslie Weaver’s primary muse. “Connecting with her is connecting to my childhood.” Six years ago, this former social worker picked up a brush and never looked back, beginning what she describes as an “artistic and personal journey into self-discovery.” Layering sweeping and serene acrylics, her stylized form of portraiture is expressive, colorful, whimsical, and a true celebration of the feminine in all its splendor.
Jason Trotter
Los Angeles, CA
It was his love of abstract expressionists like Clyfford Still and Carmen Herrera that led artist Jason Trotter to leave public relations and turn to painting. His abstract works, rendered in acrylics, explore the relationship between color and line, and their restraint is what ultimately draws you in. Working largely in triptychs, his saturated, stepped combinations are in high-demand.
Lesley Grainger
Los Angeles, CA
Originally from Yorkshire, England, artist Lesley Grainger worked as both a graphic designer and created artwork for children’s books before discovering her love of abstract painting. Working to create “an abstract visual language that cannot be expressed otherwise,” Lesley is in constant pursuit of new and intriguing color combinations for her mixed media faces and abstract creations. She views each canvas as its own unique exploration, and her discoveries are translated to the next work in what she describes as an “ongoing story.”
Caitlin Winner
San Francisco, CA
After pursing photography, artist Caitlin Winner grew restless. “I was looking for a new challenge. Oil painting proved to be the time consuming, expensive, difficult to master medium I was looking for.” This designer and painter works in oils and focuses on the classic forms of still life painting and portraiture.
Anne Carrozza Remick
Providence, RI
After receiving her BFA in Painting from the Swain School of Design, artist Anne Carrozza Remick turned her painting into a professional pursuit, becoming known for her vibrant work, some of which she creates on miniature canvases. Drawing from the people, places, and natural surroundings of her daily life, Anne’s exuberant use of color has been influenced by the teaching of the master of abstract expressionism himself, Hans Hofmann.
