What made you passionate about interior design? How’d you get your start?
I’ve always been fascinated by how colors, patterns, and textures can evoke emotional responses. When layered thoughtfully, they bring a space to life and make it feel incredibly inviting.
I spent several years gaining experience in the industry before taking the leap to start Maggie Dillon Interiors. It was a big decision, especially in March 2020 when everything felt uncertain, but taking that risk turned out to be the right choice. A return client from my previous firm was key in helping me get started and setting me on the path to where I am today.

What do you find most compelling about Chairish?
The options on Chairish are endless, making it such a fantastic resource. No matter what I’m looking for, I can almost always find exactly what I need. The platform offers access to a wide variety of both new and vintage furniture from vendors around the world, making it a perfect way to discover unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that bring invaluable character and personality to any space.

How does sustainability factor into your design choices and love of vintage?
Sustainability is an important consideration in every design choice, which is why I’m drawn to vintage and antique pieces. These items have already lived a long life, and their timeless craftsmanship makes them not only well-built and dependable but also less likely to end up in landfills.

Favorite way to create a statement-making moment in a room?
Lots (and lots!) of layers—more than you might think you need. These can come in the form of custom pillows, throws, trinkets, coffee table books, and more. Layering makes a space feel personal, collected, and curated over time, giving it that lived-in, effortless vibe that really stands out.

Do you have any go to color palettes and color combos?
I’ll forever love a combination of olive greens, mustard yellows, and blush pinks. I’m also regularly drawn to the pairing of burnt oranges and light blues.
What advice do you have for first-time clients to make their space truly personal?
Start by creating a long-term plan and tackle it as you go. Consider how you want the space to function, whether it’s maximizing seating for entertaining or creating a cozy spot for family movie nights. Once you have a clear vision, make a wish list with your priorities in mind. And if you find something you love but aren’t sure where to put it, buy it anyway! You’ll always find a place for pieces that speak to you.
