Confidently merging large-scale pattern with splashy color, New York City-based Lindsey Coral Harper creates interiors that are hard to miss. Her taste may skew towards proper Southern (thanks to her Georgian upbringing), but her propensity for whimsy and her candid, “let’s try it!” attitude results in interiors that—in addition to being livable and comforting—are total eye-candy. With her fearless approach to design, we’ve long been vying to get Lindsey’s take on everything from her favorite paint color to her go-to way to mix high and low. Thankfully, Lindsey was more than happy tell all! To get this southern charmer’s tricks of the trade, read on!

Favorite pattern (and how you love to use it)?

Favorite color combo?
I love red and pink together; I love Prussian blue and red; I love teal and chartreuse….This is hard, because there are so many great combinations! Anything a little unexpected, that’s what I like!
Favorite way to mix high and low?
Typically, we make new upholstery, so I love to add vintage side tables and or drinks tables. I think there should be some high and low in most rooms—it keeps it from looking too precious.
