For an active young family’s vacation home in Tahoe, San Francisco-based designer Kelly Hohla turned a sleek concrete-and-glass structure into a welcoming oasis of comfort and ease, open to the sky and the stunning surrounding landscape.

Working with architect Shay Zak of Zak Architecture, designer Kelly Hohla sought to create a sense of comfort and shelter within the home's grand scale, and to highlight the owners's art collection. The living room sofa by Joseph Jeup is upholstered in a Romo fabric, the gray chair by Studio Van den Akker is covered in a Lee Jofa fabric, the plaid chairs are by Coup Studio, and the bronze cocktail table is by Tuell + Reynolds; the dining chairs in the background are by Studio Van den Akker, the light fixture is by Gabriel Scott, and the painting is by Nathan Oliveira. • Hohla used a subtle palette with bright shots of color to play off against the structure's concrete and glass walls and custom oak millwork. The artwork over the fireplace is by Charles Arnoldi, the benches are by Bright Chair Company, the curtains are in a Kravet fabric, and the rug is by Mark Nelson Designs.

  • Rocking chairs by Kettal surround the firepit; the dining table in the background is by Teak Warehouse, and the dining chairs are by Janus et Cie.

  • The kitchen counters and backsplash are honed Calacatta marble, the fittings are by Dornbracht, the pendant lights are by Hersh Design, and the cabinet hardware is by Rocky Mountain Hardware.

  • In the TV room, the sofa by Holly Hunt is upholstered in a Holland and Sherry fabric, the side tables by Michael Berman are topped with lamps by Arteriors, the chandelier is by Niche Modern, and the photograph is by Richard Misrach.

  • The custom bed in the master bedroom is upholstered in a Holland and Sherry fabric, and the nightstands are by Mattaliano; the vintage lounge chairs are covered in a Romo fabric, and the stools at the foot of the bed are covered in a fabric by Castel.

  • In a powder room, the custom oak vanity is topped with a limestone counter; the sconces are by Jonathan Browning Studios, the wallpaper is by Trove, and the bath accessories are by Waterworks.

  • In the children's room, the oak bunk beds are a custom design, the pendant lights are by Niche Modern, the chest of drawers is by Studio A, and the carpet is by Floordesign, Inc.
