Inside a California Wine Country Vineyard Estate

For this vineyard estate in Healdsburg, California, designer Alison Davin of Jute created spaces that are welcoming and chic but never distract from the stunning views. From expansive, open interiors filled with antiques and custom pieces to open-air entertaining spaces facing the hills of Sonoma, this home is a true Wine Country dream.

Designer Alison Davin of Jute worked with landscape architects Lucas + Lucas and architect ARC Design to create a true vineyard-style estate for their retired clients.

In the entryway, an antique work bench is paired with a custom mirror, designed by Jute, to open up the narrow space. The striped leather rug is by Holland & Sherry in San Francisco. The custom steel light fixture was made by The Urban Electric Co.

In the living room, a John Saladino sofa upholstered in a Colefax & Fowler cotton velvet (bottom left) is paired with swivel chairs by Randolph + Hein atop an antique rug from the 1910s. The rustic wood coffee table is by Galarie Half while the Finn Floor Lamp is by Rose Tarlow Melrose House.

The dining room has the best views in the house, so the team at Jute added linen curtains to soften the harsh lines in the room while keeping the views fully intact. The dining table is made of piddy oak from Rose Uniacke in London. The dining chairs are custom, and the fabric on them is Villa Romo Ghent in Elk.

This is a view of the home’s opened main dining room from the pool area, with the sun setting over the vineyard hill. The terra cotta pots and stone flooring are from Lucas + Lucas Landscape Architects.

The family room is the busiest in the house (and also plays host to the only TV in the home). A custom slipcovered sofa is in a durable linen, Savel Aero in Flax. The Brousse chair is by Christian Liaigre; the ottoman is custom and is upholstered in Hampton Stripe by Kerry Joyce. The rug is Cortina in Alpine by Merida.

For the breakfast dining area, the homeowners wanted a casual, comfortable environment. The table, from Lucca Antiques, is made of reclaimed chestnut, while the chairs are by Janus et Cie with custom cushions and back pillows. The light is the Gear Chandelier by McEwen Lighting Studio.

The master bedroom has great architectural features, including reclaimed wood transoms. The steel bed is custom; the area rug is from Tony Kitz; the bedside tables are vintage; and the antique bench is from Maisonry.

Adjacent to the master bedroom, the library has an antique Kurdish area rug from Tony Kitz Gallery, custom cabinetry hardware from Holland + Sherry, and millwork painted in No. 18 French Gray by Farrow & Ball.

The home office sits at the front of the property, with views of the hillside and home brewery. The L-shaped dek is custom, while the chair is by Bassam Fellows. The rug is Ashton Stripe by Merida.

The covered breezeway was created to shade guests from the winds atop the vineyard hill. It serves as a transition space from the main house to the guest annex, with beautiful views near the pool.
