As summer comes to a close, our co-founder Anna Brockway is taking stock of the year’s biggest decor trends and making predictions for which ones will become headliners this fall. Whether your style skews boho or minimalist; you’re seeking a quick spruce or opting to do a complete overhaul, Anna’s singled out a little something for everyone. Buckle up, viral trends ahead!

1. Haute Bohemian
“Bring on the layers and eclecticism,” says Anna of this artful and collected look. Inspired by the free-spirited globe trotter who has a natural knack for teeing up suzanis with English countryside china and chinoiserie with gilt-flaking mirrors, this look embodies an extempore attitude we can’t get enough of. Ease into the look with a few colorful pottery pieces picked up on your travels, or a thrifted painting or two. For a splurge, recover an armchair in a killer global print.
2. Big Cats
“Our shoppers are gaga for animal prints, specifically cat motifs,” says Anna of a trend that never goes out of vogue, but is having a particularly pronounced moment as of late. Depending on how you style them, feline threads can feel traditional, contemporary, or even playful. Test-drive the trend by adding a tiger and leopard print pillow to a neutral sofa. Or, if you’re looking to go bigger, spring for cat-upholstered chair or hide-style rug. Either one will add an instant sense of classism.
3. Tiled Gallery Wall
A gallery wall can make an impressive impact, but there’s no denying that it’s long been due for a spruce. Enter: the tiled gallery wall. Consisting of same-sized prints placed in a quadrant, the tiled gallery wall feels all kinds of Zen. While you can use prints with any subject matter, Anna is particularly fond of geometric abstracts. “Sets of geometric prints provide a serene way to make a big statement,” she says. Go for a simple four-square, or a massive, twenty-piece grid.
4. Low and Modular Seating
The last time floor-skimming sofas received much fanfare, Led Zepplin was considered contemporary rock. Thankfully, the pillow-y, nest-like creations of makers like De Sede, Ligne Roset, Cassina, and Minotti are back in the spotlight thanks to a renewed interest in curvy furniture. “Low slung and modern, lounge-y modular seating makes a sophisticated, languorous impression,” says Anna. In other words: don’t confuse these beauties with your dorm room’s bean bag chair.
5. Plaster
Whether it’s plaster busts or plaster trompe o’leil tables, “shoppers are loving plaster for its chalky finish and sophisticated wit,” says Anna. The trick to making plaster feel modern is using it outside of its usual classic-leaning digs. A bust on a modern bar cart can feel a touch irreverent—even more so if you top it with a whimsical hat or scarf. Or try a trompe o’leil console against a brightly-painted wall. The merging of new and old elements will feel wonderfully fresh.
