What made you passionate about interior design?
I’ve been passionate about interior design for as long as I can remember. In school, I excelled in art and gravitated towards all things creative. My goal was to find a creative outlet that I could create a career out of, and interior design provided that for me.

How’d you get your start in interior design?
I pursued a career in marketing immediately out of college, with an intent to eventually find my way into interior design. I put that desire out into the universe and was provided my first opportunity with a friend who was remodeling her home. The rest is history!

We love that Chairish provides us with the opportunity to layer in one-of-a-kind and vintage pieces. It makes our projects and clients’ homes not only unique, but thoughtfully curated and custom!

How does sustainability factor into your design choices and love of vintage?
There are so many special pieces that already exist in terms of furniture, art, and accessories. We love to pull vintage into our projects. It provides a layered and thoughtfully considered sense of space, rather than something mass produced that feels too “new.” Not to mention, some pieces just aren’t made as well as they used to be.

Favorite way to create a statement-making moment in a room?
We tend to start from a relatively neutral base palette with our hardscape, as it lends itself to a timeless design. From there, we love to layer in textures, patterns, vintage, and color play to allow each space to feel unique.
Do you have any go-to color palettes and color combos?
Right now, we are really leaning into warm neutrals, deeper hues, and jewel tones. It pulls in a richness that we are loving. That said, we generally still stay true to more muted tones of color.

What advice do you have for first-time clients to make their space truly personal?
Trust the process and don’t be afraid to push outside of your comfort zone. Our goal is to make every project feel unique, and we want the creative license to do so, rather than playing it too safe or expected.
