Tell us a little bit about Eden Presley and the inspiration behind the brand. When and why did you start designing?
I have 3 children (Eden, Dashel, and Presley). They were born 2005, 2006, and 2007. I wanted to take a jewelry class as a hobby, and anything I made a lot of people wanted.
What should we know about jewelry right now? And what should we be wearing this season?
More than ever before, collectors and jewelry wearers are looking for items that hold meaning to them. Whether it’s a motif or something that can actually be customized, pieces that relay a message are having a moment.
What trends are you seeing in jewelry? Are we in a “more is more” phase or “minimal mode”?
I don’t really follow trends. I make designs that “speak to me” on some level and the rest just flows.
What materials are you loving right now, and what’s your main source of inspiration for motifs?
I love mixing semiprecious stones with precious ones. I have four different collections. Mantra (customizable items), Rock (gemstone pieces), Celeste (moon/star pieces), and Flora Fauna (whimsical animals and flowers). I continually add items to each of these collections. Our newest collection, Shine, features mostly one-of-a-kind items with flat gold surfaces that “shine.” The pieces are working up beautifully. We can’t wait to share them with you.
What similarities do you see between your jewelry aesthetic and your home?
I think my jewelry aesthetic matches my home perfectly. It’s a funky mix of modern and vintage.
