Stark Carpet

What They’re Known For: Stunning rugs that buck up a room like nobody’s business. Founded in 1938, Stark Carpet is known as the designer source for rugs with quietly impactful patterns (think: quatrefoils and mod geometrics à la David Hicks). And let’s not forget their iconic spot-sprinkled “Deerfield” design, considered to be the peak of chic by gaggles of designers today.

Why Pros Love Them: They’re custom as can be! In a world of prefab rug sizes, Stark knows the way to designers’ hearts: cut and bound to order rugs! Subtle yet oozing gravitas, Stark rugs can be customized for everything from wall-to-wall carpet to stairway runners.

Chaddock

What They’re Known For: Elegantly dapper furniture that design bosses like Mary McDonald and Mark D. Sikes are totally cuckoo for. A family-first furniture business seeded in the 1950s, Chaddock’s ability to reimagine traditional designs to create newly contemporary pieces means there’s no going wrong with any of their pieces.

Why Pros Love Them: Their craftsmanship. Lots of brands put major TLC into their furniture construction, but one look at Chaddock furniture and it’s clear that there’s just a little something extra in the water. A quick scroll of Chaddock’s instagram and it’s clear the appreciation they have for their craftspeople.

EJ Victor

What They’re Known For: Furniture that will be passed down to your kids and probably your kids’ kids (yet won’t look one bit dated). What began as a traditional furniture company has since expanded into a top-tier brand that’s a total style chameleon. From trad to post-modern, the EJ Victor catalog spans the full spectrum.

Why Pros Love Them: Everyone wants to hang with EJ. Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, Aerin Lauder, and Kelly Wearstler have all selected EJ Victor as the manufacturer behind their furniture lines. If that wasn’t enough of an endorsement, design darling Ryan Korban joins the marvelous line-up this fall.

Taylor Burke

What They’re Known For: The foxiest furniture on the block. Founder Julianne Taylor is a total glam girl and lifts details straight from the catwalks to breathe new life into classic furniture silhouettes. Fearless when it comes to color, Taylor Burke goes all out on jewel tones, creating everything from sofas to ottomans in deep, delicious hues.

Why Pros Love Them: Scallops, channeling, tufting, piping—Taylor Burke is all about the itty bitty details that make you say, “Wham, glam, thank you, ma’am!” Add a Taylor Burke piece into any room for instant pizazz.

Schumacher

What They’re Known For: Those textiles and wallpapers that make you go wow-zers. Founded in 1889, Schumacher cut their teeth as a European textile importer before segueing into American textile production. The Rolls Royce of the prints world, Schumacher has tapped everyone from Josef Frank to Cecil Beaton to design for them. Unsurprisingly, the designer following has been fierce from day one, with icons like Elsie DeWolfe and Dorothy Draper pledging their life-long allegiance to the brand.

Why Pros Love Them: Their prints appeal to the classicists, yet pack a definite cool factor. Their “Queen of Spain” textile tricked out the 70s-era London flat of none other than Mick Jagger, and today they collaborate with luminaries like Miles Redd, Mary McDonald, and Libertine’s Johnson Hartig.

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams

What They’re Known For: High style furniture that can swing from playdates to cocktails like it’s no big deal. Kickstarted in 1989 by two gents (Mitchell and Bob, respectively), Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams has made its name not only through stunning upholstery pieces, all handcrafted in their huge North Carolina factory, but by way of provocative, boundary-pushing advertisements that earn a resounding “Yeeeessss!” from us.

Why Pros Love Them: Their sofas and chairs handle kiddos and fur friends with aplomb. The duo’s pooch Lulu long held the position of company mascot, making it clear that there’s nothing a Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams sofa can’t handle.

Century Showroom Samples

What They’re Known For: Covet-worthy furniture with a chic, 21st-century sensibility. Based out of North Carolina since 1947, Century has long been considered one of design’s crème-de-la-crème makers. Perhaps nowhere is their pull more apparent than their roster of design talent, which taps both legendary and next-gen visionaries, including Charlotte Moss, Carrier and Company, and Windsor Smith.

Why Pros Love Them: Two words: Bunny Williams. The long and short of it is you can’t argue with a brand queen Bunny has designed for.

Scalamadre

What They’re Known For: Lovely fabrics, wallcovering, and passementerie (that’s French for all the trimmings) that really bring the tah dah! factor. Founded in 1929 by Franco Scalamandre, Scalamandre lands a pitch-perfect balance between trend and trad.

Why Pros Love Them: When it comes to whimsy, Scalamadre BRINGS it. Whether it’s the spunky, move-bustin’ dragons featured in their classic “Chi’En Dragon” pattern, or the pure marvelousness of the (Wes Anderson-loved) Scalamandre “Zebra” print, Scalamandre isn’t just fab, it’s the right amount of funky, too.

Sarreid

What They’re Known For: Glamorous goods with a global edge. Founded in 1967 by Alex Sarratt and Walter Reed, Sarried originally began as a Spanish importing company. These days Sarreid is galloping the entire globe for inspiration, making them a go-to for everything from ginger jars to chesterfields.

Why Pros Love Them: Their rockin’ legacy. There’s nothing like having a rep as a vintage player as well as a contemporary one, and Sarreid kills it in both categories. In the 1970s, Sarreid Vintage released their Brass Clad collection, which included their now crazy-coveted brass chests and trunks.
