But frilling out the hallway just like we would any other room in the home, can make a serious impact. Pack a Punch with Paint

In the narrowest of hallways, paint isn’t just an ally, it’s a gift from the design deities. If wedging in furniture simply isn’t an option, blanket your hallway in paint. If there was ever a place to invest in picture molding or wainscotting, the hallway is it. Moldings can instant dimension to plain paint, and the addition of them can instantly make a hallway look “finished.”

Work a Slim Silhouette

There’s virtually nowhere that extra storage space isn’t welcome. The same goes for the hallway. While traditional credenzas and consoles might be too wide for a hallway, there are a number of designs that are made especially for tight situations. Keep an eye out for consoles tagged narrow consoles. As for how to style a credenza or console in a narrow hallway? Keep accessories to a minimum and rather than knick-knacks, consider making an impactful statement with a piece of art placed overhead.

Factor in a Fun Runner

Runners are an easy way to enliven any hallway. Considering hallways are the “backbone” of the home from which other rooms branch off, chances are high that your runner will be viewable from other rooms. With this in mind, it’s wise to choose one that shares colors that are similar to those used in the rest of your home.

Outfit it in Art

While most of us consider saving splurge-y art purchases for living rooms and bedrooms, a beloved piece of art can bring unexpected joy to a hallway. Considering how many times you’ll pass by it a day, art can truly get its value worth stationed in a hall.
