What are the average sofa dimensions?
Considering our diverse collection of sofas, it can be hard to determine what the standard size of a sofa truly is. Well, have no fear—Chairish is here! The standard three-seat sofa has a length of about 70″ to 87,” measuring between the left and right edge of the couch, with the most common length clocking in at 84.” Loveseats, or two-person couches, normally measure 52″ to 71″ long. Generally, sofas tend to be between 26″ to 36″ tall. Low-back sofas give off a feeling of modernity while high-back sofas are more traditional and comfortable.
Standard sofa depth, or the measurement from the very front of the sofa to the very back, is 35,” but the range encompasses 32″ to 40.” On the other hand, the standard sofa seat depth—the length from the front to the back edge of the seat—is 21″ or 22.” The deeper the cushions’ depth, the comfier the sofa. Also, deeper couches fit taller people better. Deep-seat sofas have seats between 28″ to 35″ in depth and extra-deep-seat sofas are over 35″ deep.
