It’s that time of year again: time for the San Francisco Fall Art & Antiques Show! A show of epic proportions, the San Francisco Fall Art & Antiques Show runs from October 26th to the 29th, with its can’t-miss annual Preview Gala taking place on the evening of the 25th.
In conjunction with San Francisco celebrating 50 years since it was infiltrated by flower children during 1967’s Summer of Love, The Show has adopted a floral theme for this year’s program: “Flower Power: Floral Imagery in Art, Antiques, and Design.”
Prepare yourself to overindulge in blooms, courtesy of the show’s 60 dealers, who will be highlighting florals’ iconography throughout the ages—or from “Watteau to Warhol” as the organization itself so succinctly puts it. Per tradition, the Preview Gala will feature live music, vodka and caviar bars, and a legendary buffet dinner, while the remaining dates will include book signings, lectures, and cocktail talks.
Ticket sales will benefit the Enterprise for Youth, a San Francisco based institution. Last year’s event drew more than 7,000 guests and raised some $500,000 for the Enterprise. If you’re going, the show will take place at the Fort Mason convention center in San Francisco. Tickets may be purchased on the San Francisco Fall Art & Antiques Show website. And, just a thought, but you might also think about wearing some flowers in your hair…
