Here are some of our favorite stories from around the web this past week. Enjoy the eye candy!
- Let’s talk about this castle on Long Island. No, seriously. Designer Paula Caravelli has given a royal overhaul to a crumbling 1928 villa and the results are jaw-dropping. The pink stucco villa is now the epitome of modern elegance, yet its historic charms haven’t been lost. Don’t miss the lovingly restored archival-grade mural in the great room! (AD)
- Heading West, we’re swooning over this 1954 Bud Oglesby-designed Dallas home which was recently given a major makeover by Avrea Wagner Interiors. The cool, modern space is the perfect canvas for the homeowner’s astonishing art and furniture collection—think Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, Mies van der Rohe, and more. AD has the tour!
- Couldn’t make it to Milan for Salon de Mobile? With the buzzy furniture fair in full swing, we’re feeling some serious FOMO. Thankfully for us, Wallpaper’s coverage is offering some real time footage that almost makes it feel like we’re taking it all in first-hand. If you need us this weekend, you know where to find us.
- Yatzer has an incredible tour of a Sydney penthouse that’s been given the moniker, Villa Amor. Cheesy? Maybe a touch. But inside this Arent&Pyke-designed home we promise that there’s nothing to cringe about. The Art Deco plasterwork, the gorgeous furniture, the harbor views. On second thought, maybe the name is right on the money!
- FYI: we cannot stop watching Bon Appetit’s video series and this one just might be our favorite: Test Kitchen host, Brad makes focaccia bread with a food star Samin Nosrat of “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” fame. We’re hungry just watching!
